The Southport Sharks welcome back 2018 NEAFL Premiership player Rhys Clark, who will return to the club for season 2024.
Clark left the Sharks at the end of the 2022 season to focus on travel and business opportunities.
2022 was arguably Clark’s best season at Southport, as he finished fourth in the best and fairest.
The key defender was also awarded the most dedicated player for season 2022.
Before playing for Southport, Clark played for Kyabram in the Goulburn Valley Football League (which is also where he played in 2023) and had a stint playing VFL for Bendigo.
Southport’s General Manager of Football Operations Jarrod Field said, “It was sad to see Rhys go, so we are happy that he has decided to return.”
“He was a key pillar of our defence, and we believe he still has a lot to offer at VFL level.”
