Jacob Dawson is locked in to play at the Sharks for 2023.

The 22-year-old midfielder will lace up for his third season at the club.

In 2022, Dawson was elected as co-captain, won the VFL Coaches MVP, came second in the J.J Liston Trophy (League Best & Fairest) and was named in the VFL team of the year.

Dawson also won the Doc MacKenzie Medal (Southport Best & Fairest) for the second year in a row.

He averaged 29 possessions, nine clearances and five tackles a game in his 18 games during the home and away season.

Southport Coach Steve Daniel said, “Jacob plays a pivotal role in our club and the direction we are taking it. We are so pleased that he has re-signed for 2023.”
