The Southport Sharks recruiting drive has succeeded in landing three quality additions to the playing list.

Former Brisbane Lion Josh Clayton, former Collingwood Rookie Michael Manteit and former Bendigo VFL player Rhys Clark have all signed to play with the club in 2018.

Clayton has spent the past three seasons at the Lions after being drafted under the father-son rule in 2014. Clayton played two AFL games and his NEAFL form has been outstanding. He will be a valuable addition to the midfield.

Manteit was drafted to Collingwood with pick eight in the 2014 Rookie Draft and spent one season at the club. He played in the NEAFL with Sydney University during 2016 and 2017, earning a NEAFL Rising Star nomination in the process.

Rhys Clark spent a year the VFL with Bendigo but has spent the past four seasons with Kyabram in the strong Goulburn Valley Football League. He has been a key player in the past two undefeated premiership seasons at Kyabram.

Senior Coach Steve Daniel said “We are extremely pleased that players of this calibre are wanting to play for the club. We are certainly heading in the right direction”.
