Every night, thousands of Australians endure the harsh reality of homelessness but we can make a difference. This year, our CEO Dean Bowtell is participating in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, an initiative by the St Vincent de Paul Society, to raise funds and awareness for those in need. By spending a single night sleeping outside, the event hopes to shed light on the challenges faced by the homeless and contribute to breaking the devastating cycle of homelessness.

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is not just about raising funds; it is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. Your support can play a vital role in providing essential resources and support for individuals and families facing homelessness.

This year’s CEO Sleepout holds special significance for Dean, as he will be participating in memory of Southport Sharks President Matt Schneider, a dear friend and a passionate advocate for this cause. Matt’s unwavering support for the Vinnies CEO Sleepout and his dedication to helping the less fortunate were truly inspiring. As part of Team Schneider, alongside Rachel Hancock, Ben Lyons, Tamika Smith, Steve Harrison, and William Owen-Jones, the group will come together to honour Matt’s memory and continue his legacy of compassion and support for those experiencing homelessness.

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout presents a unique opportunity to raise funds and awareness for homelessness. By spending one night sleeping outside, the CEOs gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness. At Southport Sharks, we are proud to support Dean and the rest of Team Schneider, carrying Matt’s spirit of compassion and advocacy with them.
