The Southport Sharks are thrilled to announce that former Fremantle and West Coast player Hugh Dixon has signed with the club.

A Tasmanian native, Dixon began his career with the Kingborough Tigers before being drafted by Fremantle with the 44th pick in the 2017 draft.

Dixon made his AFL debut with the Dockers in 2019 against Adelaide, which ended up being his only game for Fremantle.

In 2021, he played for East Fremantle before getting a second chance at AFL level with West Coast Eagles in 2022, where he played 10 AFL games.

In 2023, Dixon returned to East Fremantle, where he proved instrumental in their WAFL premiership as a key forward.

Southport’s General Manager of Football Operations Jarrod Field said, “We are really excited to have Hugh join us.”

“He is going to be a terrific addition to our side, and I believe he will play a massive role in helping us improve next year.”
