On Thursday 19 October, the Southport Sharks team gathered to celebrate Chris Jones’ 27 years of service to the club as he heads into retirement.

Chris started working at the club in 1996 as one of the first Duty Managers. In his nearly three decades at the Sharks, he has worked in a variety of roles, working his way up to his current role as Chief Operating Officer – a position he has held since 2014.

At his farewell morning tea, Southport Sharks CEO Dean Bowtell said “I wouldn’t have been able to achieve my goals as CEO without someone like Chris supporting me. I will always cherish his passion, his commitment to this club and his mateship. I will miss his contribution, support and most importantly his laughter.”

Join us in congratulating Chris on his years of service! From the entire Sharks team, thank you Chris for your unwavering dedication and contributions to our club. Here’s to a well-deserved retirement ahead.

As we bid farewell to Chris, we also warmly welcome the future. Chris’s role as Chief Operating Officer will be filled by Adam Paterson, our current General Manager of Food & Beverage.
