Southport Coach Peter Doherty said, “Today’s game was extremely important for us in our attempt to finish on top of the ladder at the end of the home and away season.”

“With the journey we have been on this year, we did not want to take the foot off the pedal this week.”

“Obviously, we are pleased to defeat Coorparoo, who will most likely play finals this year, by over 10 goals, but for us, the most pleasing thing is that we had 21 contributors for four quarters.”

“We are happy with our form, but the job is not finished. We have one more round of the home and away season to grow and improve before finals.”
