Celebrating Mantra at Sharks’ first year, the events team of Mantra at Sharks & Sharks Events Centre opened their doors to guests to experience a sensory tour in conjunction with their partners; Blue Shadow Group, Be Challenged, W Events Group and Pyramid Displays.
A roving experience to showcase what’s new in the events and meetings industry. We welcomed 30-guests to see, smell, touch and participate in activities to discover new ways of connecting with clients at their meetings. As a strong corporate offering in market, we choose to partner with Gold Coast businesses to offer our clients a truly local experience.
Mantra at Sharks
Commencing the Open Day, guests were greeted by Mr Sharky, Southport Sharks mascot, as they explored the new ultra-modern Mantra at Sharks Hotel. Mantra at Sharks offers 120-accommodation rooms with a 24-hour reception, free onsite self-parking and complimentary use of the Sharks Fitness Centre (excludes group classes) & complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi. Additionally, Mantra+ members receive, complimentary late check out, water on arrival, members discounts and most importantly it’s free to join.
Aviary Rooftop Bar
A top of this architecturally designed building, is a stunning rooftop bar featuring Surfers Paradise skyline and Hinterland views. Aviary is an enclosed rooftop space with large windows offering an open-air experience, or for those seeking a truly open-air experience, there is The Nest. With a capacity of 200-guests this venue is available for exclusive use bookings.

Joining us in the Sharks Events Centre, Kelly Davies from Pyramid Displays showcased various exhibition booth styles including a new mini concept that will upgrade your trade show from standard trestle tables & display panels. Their idea’s will enhance your exhibitors presence & the overall look of your exhibition.

Sharks Events Centre | Team Building
Team building is an important building block for any company or organisation. Breaking down barriers, exploring a team’s capabilities, or rewarding a team for exceptional work is an important activity for all business.
Claire Duke from Be Challenged brought along the latest in team challenged experiences – the Infinite Loop. Using a fast-paced VR technology, the Infinite Loop is a powerful lean management business game, based on real-time collaboration and communication. The more precise the player in the virtual world is in describing the problem, the faster the teammates in the real world find the solution. Interactive learning, combined with continuous feedback and improvement, makes the teams solve problems in more efficient ways.
Sharks Events Centre | Audio Visual
Our venue partners, Blue Shadow Group have invested in the latest state-of-the-art equipment to improve our clients’ experiences in the Sharks Events Centre. The most exciting upgrade is the Bose Professional ShowMatch array loudspeakers, which can be seamlessly divided between our five event spaces, ensuring complete audio coverage through the entire space.
From the latest in sound, visual and lighting effects through to video production services, they strive to offer clients the greatest value at affordable prices. This means keeping their inventory up-to-date with the very latest in the market: from a customisable LED wall comprised of 500mm x 500mm 3.9p panels; to mobile charge bars for exhibitors; or a ‘Catch Box’ microphone to add a bit of fun and interaction to a conference. Our open day guests were given the opportunity to see this equipment working first-hand.
Sharks Events Centre | Styling
Whether you are designing an end of day mixer or a gala dinner, Sharks Events Centre has venues and room sizes to suit all. With a ballroom capable of a cocktail event for 1000, and with the expertise of W Events Group, we can deliver new, or classic, styling and design to events.
Working across south-east Queensland, they are dedicated to creating events that accommodate client needs through their innate culture of keeping it real. Cindy Paterson and her team transported us into another world for the Open Day, creating a Moroccan themed cocktail party.
Sharks Events Centre | Catering
A specifically designed menu from Sharks Events Centre sous chef, showcased our new interactive food station menus, which we have incorporated into our 2019 package. Open Day guests dined on a self-served Moroccan inspired menu including; balsamic beetroot and goats’ cheese on piklets, crudité cups with bubagunush and hummus, Moroccan meatballs with pomegranate glaze, and Moroccan chicken or lamb sliders.
