The Southport Sharks are pleased to welcome Jackson Edwards to the club.
Edwards is a 23-year-old mid/forward who was on the Adelaide Crows list in 2018, and most recently played for West Adelaide in the SANFL for the last two years.
He has also played for Glenelg and comes to the VFL, having played 48 SANFL senior games.
Edwards said he is looking forward to getting started at the Sharks.
“It’s an exciting opportunity. This is the best club for me to continue my football journey, and I hope I can help contribute in helping the club to go one step further and win the VFL”.
“There are some great players and coaches here, and I am looking forward to getting to know them.”
Jackson is the son of Adelaide Crows legend Tyson Edwards and is very thankful for the part his parents have played in his football journey.
“I was very fortunate at a young age to grow up around the Adelaide Football Club and to have Dad as a mentor throughout my whole footy journey has been incredible. Mum has also played a massive part as well.”
Outside of football Edwards is an online personal trainer.
Southport Coach Steve Daniel said the club is excited to add someone with a lot of experience at State League level.
“We think Jackson will be a great addition to our side, and we look forward to seeing what he can bring.”
