Top tips to smash those end of summer blues.
We all know the start of a new year can lead to many new health goals, however, by the end of summer that motivation and momentum can start to fade out. Here are some top tips from the Southport Sharks Health + Fitness team assist you on your health goal journey.
1. Get started and don’t stop!
Just START! Although the year is already in full swing you don’t need an excuse like a new years resolution to start. Whatever your health goal is, there is no perfect timing to start so just do it and don’t look back. “A year from now you’ll wish you started TODAY.”
2. Keep setting goals to stay on track
Goal setting is a great way to make sure you’re hitting your health goals. Try setting smaller weekly and monthly goals to break down your progress and track how far you’ve come in your efforts. By the end of the year, you will be able to see how much progress you’ve made!
3. Train with friends – (S.FIT)
Friends are another way to keep you motivated. We spend time with them often so why not extend that into the gym and keep each other accountable. Set a plan to meet regularly as well as keeping one another other on track to each of your specific goals.
Our small group training program, S.FIT is another great way to start training with others, while maintaining a personalised fitness routine.
4. Try to not break habits
Throughout the year there will be many occasions that will challenge you, whether that be birthday celebrations, holidays or even lifestyle changes, it’s important not to steer too far from your new healthy habits. Look back on your goals and remind yourself of how far you’ve come.
5. Don’t beat yourself up for having an off day
We all have bad days but it’s important to not be so hard on yourself. These days are all part of the journey and there are many people who will be there to help support you and guide you back on track!
