Three of the Sharks promising young talents – Max Pescud, Tom Reeves and Corey Joyce have re-signed for 2023.
Max Pescud finished third in the Shark’s best and fairest in 2022 and demonstrated his potential.
In his first season at the club, he played every game this year, averaging 18 disposals, six marks and over a goal a game.
The Surfers Paradise/Gold Coast Suns Academy product has been nominated for this year’s draft and if not selected, will be playing for Southport.
Corey Joyce has battled with injury the last couple of years and got a chance at the VFL level against Box Hill midway through the year.
The Palm Beach junior will be hoping for an uninterrupted pre-season and to play more VFL games in 2023.
Tom Reeves also made his debut in 2022. After missing out on making the 2021 list, his resilience and determination was rewarded with a 2022 list spot.
He then made his debut against the Giants in Round 8 and stayed in the team for the next three weeks.
Southport Coach Steve Daniel said, “It is pleasing to have Max, Corey and Tom re-sign. They are all exciting young players with exceptional work ethics.”
“It was great to see them all debut for the club in 2022, and hopefully we see more of them in 2023.”
