Southport Sharks has been named a finalist for Gold Coast’s Best Sporting Club at the 57th Gold Coast Sports Awards — and we’re calling on your support to help bring it home.
With over 50,000 valued Club members, more than 750 Aussie Rules participants, a Senior women’s program that has claimed four premierships in the past five years, and a Senior men’s team that reached the VFL Grand Final three times in the last four years, the Southport Sharks continues to set the benchmark on and off the field as the Gold Coast’s premier destination.
The Sharks’ women’s program has cemented itself as the leading AFLW pathway on the Gold Coast. In 2025 alone, five QAFLW players were drafted to the Gold Coast Suns AFLW program, taking the total to 21 players signed by AFLW clubs since the inception of the senior women’s program in 2020 — an achievement unmatched locally.
Looking ahead, our Masterplan will be a true game-changer for women’s sport, delivering dedicated training and competition facilities designed to support the rapid growth of the industry and ensure the next generation has a clear, elite pathway to succeed.
This recognition reflects the strength of our players, coaches, volunteers, members and wider community — and every vote helps.
Voting is open to Gold Coast residents only. Entrants must be aged 18 years or over.
