Southport Sharks is proud to announce Emma Robertson as the winner of the 2025 Golden Shark – Employee of the Year.
The Golden Shark acknowledges the team member who demonstrates the Southport Sharks values at the highest level — excellence, teamwork, integrity, community and positive experiences.
This year, the honour was awarded to Duty Manager Emma Robertson, whose contribution exemplified each of these values.
Emma joined the Sharks family in June 2024, bringing with her a strong background in club operations following roles at CSI and Kurrawa. From her very first shift, she established herself as a calm, capable and trusted presence within our Duty Manager team — and quickly became a cornerstone of the club’s day-to-day success.
Across 2025, Emma has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, guiding both our operations and our people with clarity, empathy and a genuine commitment to the club’s values.
Her reliability and efficiency are hallmarks of her work, but it’s her ability to form strong relationships across departments that makes her so remarkable.
Team members regularly seek out Emma for support during challenging situations, knowing she’ll provide sound judgement and steady guidance.
Southport Sharks CEO Dean Bowtell said, “Emma has had an extraordinary impact in a very short period of time. She leads with calm confidence, and our people trust her because she consistently shows up with integrity and care.”
“The Golden Shark is about recognising individuals who consistently lift our club, and Emma is a truly deserving recipient.”
“Her ability to navigate complex situations with professionalism and empathy is something we deeply admire. Emma embodies the culture we strive for at Southport Sharks”.
“Congratulations, Emma — and thank you for everything you do for Southport Sharks.”
