Southport Sharks takes pride in its recognition as a leader within the Queensland Club Industry, and as a provider of superior service standards to both members and guests who utilise our facilities.
Accordingly, the Club has initiated a number of policies to ensure the maintenance of those standards, and to safeguard the safety and wellbeing of not only those persons utilising our facility, but the surrounding community as a whole. Central to those initiatives is the Club’s Risk-Assessed Management Plan (RAMP), covering such matters as responsible service of alcohol, responsible provision of gaming services, security issues, legislative compliance and provisions of service. The following outline the mandatory compliance requirements imposed by the Club’s policies on all persons utilising the Club’s facilities.
1 – BEHAVIOUR
Each and every person utilising Club facilities has the right to a safe, peaceful and enjoyable environment within Club precincts. To that end:

Southport Sharks has a policy to serve patrons in a responsible, friendly, and professional manner. In accordance with the Southport Sharks RAMP:
3 – RESPONSIBLE CONDUCT OF GAMBLING
Southport Sharks is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and responsible gaming environment. In accordance with the Queensland Responsible Gambling Code of Practice:
Patrons are encouraged to gamble responsibly and to seek assistance if gambling is no longer enjoyable or within their control.
4 – DRESS
Southport Sharks requires that all members and guests attending the Club abide by the following dress code, and have a clean, neat and tidy appearance at all times whilst on Club premises. Appropriate upper body clothing must be worn at all times.

Management reserves the right to interpret and enforce this Dress Code Policy and may refuse entry or request any person to leave if the dress standards are not met.
5 – SECURITY
All security personnel contracted at Southport Sharks are licensed under the Security Providers Act 2008 and are fully authorised to take any action deemed to be in the best interest of the Club and its patrons.
To ensure the safety of all persons utilising Club facilities, it is expected that any patron entering the Club will:

7 – PRIVACY & FACIAL RECOGNITION TECHNOLOGY (FRT)
Southport Sharks uses Facial Recognition Technology (FRT) within the premises to assist with security, safety, responsible gambling, and legislative compliance arrangements.
By entering the Club premises, remaining on the premises, or continuing your membership, you acknowledge and consent to the collection and use of your image and biometric information through FRT in accordance with the Club’s Privacy Policy. FRT may operate at entry points, gaming areas, and other monitored locations within the Club.
Entry to the premises is conditional upon this consent. Persons who do not consent to the use of FRT may be refused entry to the premises or denied access to certain areas, including the Gaming Room.

8 – HEALTH AND SAFETY
Southport Sharks is committed to ensuring that employees, contractors, suppliers, members, visitors and all other persons associated with our organisation are not exposed to health and safety risks arising from the conduct or activities of our business.
It is expected that persons utilising Club facilities will take all due care to ensure that they and others remain free from injury whilst on the premises and immediately report any perceived hazard or risk to Managerial staff for investigation and assessment.
9 – DRUGS AND ALCOHOL
Southport Sharks has a stringent Drug and Alcohol Policy which applies equally to employees, contractors and patrons. All illegal or illicit (recreation) drugs are strictly forbidden, and all alcohol consumed must be purchased on premise. The Club adheres to the principles of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), and persons deemed to be under the influence of alcohol will be denied further service.
Where the conduct of any individual is considered unsociable or unruly, they will be removed from the premises. Any person leaving the premises in an intoxicated state will be encouraged not to drive, and every assistance will be given for them to make alternate transport arrangements.
Where it is known or suspected that any patron, contractor or employee is consuming, selling, purchasing, providing or is in possession of illegal substance(s), that person will be immediately removed from the premises, and the matter reported to the authorities.
