Announcing a new extension to the long-standing charity partnership Southport Sharks has with the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation.
Mantra at Sharks hotel (owned and operated by Southport Sharks) is proud to be the newly appointed Emergency Accommodation Provider for the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation.
The primary objective of this agreement is to provide essential accommodation support to patients and families in our community who are suffering from emotional distress and financial hardship due to a medical crisis.
This extension of the existing partnership continues to showcase our support of the not-for-profit Foundation and the development of the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct, within which Southport Sharks operates.
Sharks Community Benefit Fund supports the Foundation
As a key community organisation, Southport Sharks aims to be an integral part of the local Gold Coast community by providing financial support through its Community Benefit Fund program. This funding is raised with Southport Sharks donating $1 from the annual membership fee and weekly staff contributions.
Since the partnership commenced in 2011, Southport Sharks members and staff have raised over $200,000 for the Foundation. These kind donations have provided assistance for projects such as the Cancer Patient Transport Service, iSimulate training system for emergency department clinicians, the first lung function testing unit for pre-schoolers, a state-of-the-art diabetes analyser, rehabilitation equipment, and digital therapy equipment in the children’s emergency department.
