About Us
We are Southport Sharks; the Gold Coast's premier sport, leisure and entertainment destination.
From humble beginnings at Owen Park in 1961 to becoming a community leader in sport, leisure and entertainment today, we take pride in entertaining our members. Southport Sharks hosts over a million visitors annually and is one of the largest clubs in Queensland with over 55,000 members.
Whilst we have grown in stature, we remain ingrained within the local community and proud to be a key stakeholder in the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct, with health, fitness and education a priority to Southport Sharks.
Our Facilities
Sharks offer a multi-purpose events centre, restaurant, a café, four bars, two AFL grade ovals, sports facilities, modern 24/7 fitness centre, Mantra at Sharks Hotel, kids club, gaming facilities and free weekly entertainment.
Our Football Team
When a spirited Australian rules football team of 22 players takes to the field, they are supported by around one thousand individuals – including team members, junior players and administration personnel – who proudly wear the Sharks colours. In 2020, we proudly fielded our first senior women’s football team.
Our Hotel
Mantra at Sharks features 120-rooms including the Accessible Queen & King Suite Accessible room types. There is the stunning Aviary Rooftop Bar, and light-filled meeting spaces ideal for meetings, secretariats and break-out rooms for conferences. The hotel is a part of Southport Sharks with plenty on offer.
