Imagine winning your wedding. In October 2018, one lucky couple, Stevie & Wayne did after entering Sharks Events Centre Win Your Wedding competition. Sharks Events Centre along with some of the Gold Coast’s top wedding suppliers generously donated their time and resources to Stevie and Wayne Adams, bringing their dream wedding to life. Special Events Coordinator, Lilly Mann worked closely with the couple, ensuring every detail was perfect.
Lilly and the events team did the most amazing job at planning, organising and hosting our wedding. All staff were so professional and they made sure everything went exactly the way I wanted. Many guests had said it was the best wedding they had ever attended and made comments about the professionalism of serving staff. Southport Sharks Health + Fitness Centre (SSH+F)
Pre-wedding preparation started immediately after the winner announcement in October 2018, with Stevie & Wayne working on their “wed-shred” thanks to SSH+F– offering the couple “The Big Commitment” package with personal training sessions to help them feel their best on the big day.
Mantra at Sharks
On Friday 5 April, the bridal party checked in to Mantra at Sharks hotel the night before the big day. While the men enjoyed an evening drink at Aviary Rooftop Bar, the bridal party indulged in a ladies night, with a bottle of champagne in their luxury king suite room.
Tonia Murphy Hair & House of Glamour Make Up
Tonia Murphy and Byron Bourne from House of Glamour Makeup worked with the bride to create her signature hair style and make-up ideas to life.
J’adore Photography
The hard-working team behind J’adore Wedding Film and Photography understand the beauty of weddings lie in each couple’s unique love story. Isla Burkitt and Rob Bampton focus on capturing the magic of a moment – the emotions, drama and details in between. The team’s friendly and personable approach allowed the bridal party and guests to relax and be themselves.
Robyn Wagner Celebrant
Robyn Wagner officiated Mr & Mrs Adams nuptials in front of 60 of their closest family and friends. Robyn is a full-time celebrant with 11-years of experience, allowing her to plan a fun, meaningful and memorable ceremony with ease.
There Must Be Cake
Anna Garvey and the team from There Must Be Cake delivered Stevie & Wayne’s three-tired masterpiece. Chocolate mud, salted caramel & cookies and cream was requested by the couple, with a rustic beige finish and beautiful fresh florals to match the reception room décor.
Christine Valentine
Christine Valentine conceptualised the vision from initial invitations right through to the welcome sign, seating chart and menus. Christine offers an extensive range of fresh and unique event stationery in a variety of styles. She delivers a personal design and print service to create the wedding stationery of your dreams.
W Events Group
Stevie & Wayne worked closely with wedding stylists, W Events Group to create their theme of ivory, white and dusty pinks. W Events Group created stunning florals lining the aisle, timeless bridal bouquets through to flickering tea light candles to compliment the centrepieces.
Otter & Barrow Cookie Company
Zan Lewarn from Otter and Barrow Cookie Company offers gorgeous handmade cookies for any occasion. Cookie design and colours are only limited by your imagination and Otter and Barrow were happy to help create custom designs for Stevie & Wayne’s special celebration. A simple “W&S” engraved on each cookie was the perfect guest souvenir.
Blue Shadow Group
Behind the scenes, AV specialists Blue Shadow Group set the mood and brought the stunning Riewoldt Room to life. For Stevie & Wayne, this meant a splash of dreamy pink lighting and a touch of special effects on the dance floor to create the perfect ambiance. From the latest in sound, visual and lighting effects through to video production, Blue Shadow Group are local corporate and event production specialists.
Explosive Entertainment
Whilst guests were making memories in the photo-booth, others were on the dance floor amidst the dry ice effect – both supplied by Explosive Entertainment. They are a reliable and reputable Gold Coast wedding entertainment company with professional, passionate DJs. Known for exceptional service, they are owner-operated and handle each event themselves, ensuring personal attention to each client.
Fuse Pyrotechnics
Fuse Pyrotechnics created the perfect photo opportunity for the couple’s first dance using indoor pyrotechnics. As Wayne lifted Stevie into the air, fireworks went off and dry ice covered the dance floor – it was the perfect Cinderella moment. Fuse Pyrotechnics specialise in close-proximity pyrotechnics through to spectacular outdoor firework displays featuring large aerial effects. Also offering non-pyrotechnic effects such as low-lying fog and streamers/confetti.
Sharks Events Centre’s dedicated team can create the perfect package for your wedding day. The beautifully landscaped Village Green and Garden Gazebo are wonderful spaces to experience an outdoor wedding in true Gold Coast style. A reception can be held just a few feet away in a clear roof marquee, lined with fairy lights for a magical touch. Alternatively, an elegant reception just like Mr & Mrs Adams, can be held in Sharks Events Centre.
