Saturday’s game against NT Thunder was played in front of some premiership heroes of yesteryear, but they must have been disappointed with what they witnessed.

A good first quarter set up a 3 point quarter time lead, but we lost Brady Egan at the 10-minute mark when he was knocked out cold. We struggled to contain NT gun Cameron Ilett after this point.

The next 2 quarters saw some of our worst football of the season. We conceded 10 goals and only managed 2 ourselves. Hamish Shepheard came off with a shoulder injury which just added salt to the wounds.

Straight kicking in junk time made the scoreboard look better but the game was effectively over in three-quarters.

Tom Thynne did the job on Ben Rioli, Jack Anthony kept gun forward Darren Ewing goalless and debutant Dylan Lancaster had a great day, kicking 2 goals. The midfielders worked hard but we just didn’t have enough winners on the day.

WithareplayofthegameonNITVtonight, I am sure the playing group will be ready to respond with a ruthless performance against Redland this week at home.
