Match Report - Round 6

16th May, 2017

We travelled to Blacktown on Saturday to take on the undefeated Sydney University and they showed us exactly why they sit on top of the NEAFL ladder.

We were completely outplayed when the game was in the balance and then suffered a massive injury toll from the second quarter onwards.

Holland, Erickson, Clements, Johnson and Turner were all out of action by game’s end and the scoreboard in the last quarter reflected our lack of run. Sydney Uni had 14 shots at goal and we were lucky the margin was not over 100 points.

Brady Egan did a fantastic job on gun midfielder Tom Young, and Rob Clements’ form until injured was outstanding. Aside from these 2, there were not too many positives to come out of the game.

The players had a very honest discussion straight after the game and hopefully, we see a positive response on the track.

We will need 5 replacements for next week’s must-win home game against the Northern Territory.

Our past players will be celebrating the Premierships won in 1977, 1987 & 1997 next Saturday and we need to produce an effort that will get our season back on track and ensure that these former champions of the club can enjoy a great day.
